Ethyl Holderfield Williams, 93, was called home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at her residence in Farmington, AR. Ethyl was born September 24, 1930, in Herbine, Arkansas, and was preceded in death by her husband James, parents Robert and Mary Holderfield, and two sisters, Dixie Jordan and Jimmie Wade. In 1951, Ethyl married, moved to Sterling, Illinois, and lived for 42 years. First as a homemaker and then retired after 24 years from National Manufacturing Company. In 1992, Ethyl and James returned to Rison, Arkansas where they enjoyed 25 years of retirement. In 2017, they moved to Farmington, Arkansas, to be near family. Ethyl was firm in her Christian faith and shared that with others. She enjoyed her family, home projects, reading, travel and other interests. She served several years as a Sunday school teacher and was a member of the Rison Methodist Church.
Ethyl is survived by her son Mark Williams and his wife Sherry of West Fork, Arkansas. Her daughter Jennifer Futrell and her husband Rick of Texarkana, Arkansas, sisters Peggy (Don) Ashworth and Garnita (Charles) Hobson and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation service will be held at Buie Funeral Home, Rison, AR Saturday, January 6 th from 12 noon until 1:30 p.m. followed by a committal service at Greenwood Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Memorials may be sent to St. Jude’s Research or Arkansas Children's Hospital.www.stjude.orgwww.archildrens.org.
