Esther V. Thompson

Esther V. Edwards Thompson, age 70, of Rison died Saturday, May 16, 2015. She was born July 2, 1944 in Rison, a daughter of the late Eddie Edwards and Alma Edwards Norks. Mrs. Thompson was a licensed practical nurse and private caregiver. She was a member of Corner Stone Church of God. Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by two sisters, Opal Ashcraft, Ermalee Reynolds and one brother, Albert Edwards. She is survived by three sons, Robert Whipple of Port Charlotte, Florida, Jimmy Whipple of Rison, Jeffery Whipple of Warren; two daughters, Lori Byrne of Rison, Amy Allen of Rison; four brothers, Jessie Edwards of Arkadelphia, Jimmy Edwards of Pine Bluff, Billy Edwards of Pine Bluff, Curtis Edwards of Rison; two sisters, Mary Guffy of Rison, Linda Smith of Pine Bluff and four grandchildren. Visitation will be 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison with Reverend Jonathan Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Prosperity Cemetery at Rison. Pallbearers are Clint Allen, Zach Byrne, River Byrne, Bobby Byrne, Ron Edwards, Keith Watt and Chris Price.
