Dr. Estella Ruth (Helphingstine) Deweese, age 80, of Beebe, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 24th, 2022.
She was born May 1st, 1941, to Ted and Edna Helphingstine. She was a Christian in the Apostolic faith and a member of the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Beebe. She had an Honorary Doctorate of Christian Education from Christian Bible College and Seminary. She worked as a Home Economics Teacher, Food Service Supervisor, Registrar, and a Receptionist for thirty-four years until her retirement at the Lighthouse Christian College and Academy. She also served many years as a church secretary for the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed crocheting and making congo bars. She read the Bible through every year, and when she was blind and no longer able to read, she learned to read the Bible in braille. She also earned certificates from the Hadley School for the Blind.
She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Michelle Day and husband, Roger of Beebe; two sons, Stephen Deweese of Beebe; Jeremy Deweese and wife, Kandyce of Searcy; two sisters, Eleanor Hull of Dexter, Kansas; Donna Underwood and husband, Carroll of Winfield, Kansas; brothers, Dan Helphingstine and wife, Bonita of Cedar Vale, Kansas; Teddy Helphingstine and wife, Mickie of Cedar Vale, Kansas; brother-in-law, Floyd Remer, nine grandchildren, as well as a host of extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Edna Helphingstine; her husband of 51 years, James Deweese, her son, Jimmy Deweese; a great-grandchild; brother-in-law, Adrary Hull, and a sister, Naomi Remer.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, January 29th, 2022, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, 505 North Apple Street, Beebe, AR 72012. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm also at the church with Dr. John Scheel and Pastor Jason Scheel officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens in Beebe.
