Elmer Maurice Green

Elmer Maurice Green, 84, of Leola, died January 28, 2008 at his home. He was born May 20, 1923 in Fordyce, Arkansas, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Butler Green. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Ruth Green of Leola; sister, Katie Hardman of Fordyce; son and daughter-in-law, Tony Maurice and Nancy Green of Dover, Arkansas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sally Ruth and Claude Allen Newton of Leola, Kristy Diane and James Randal Hall of Leola; four grandchildren, Darren and Cody Newton, Brittney (Chris) Barnes, Courtney Hall.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2008 at Buie Funeral Chapel in Sheridan with Brother Shelton Miller, Brother Roger Hall, and Brother Johnie Brewster officiating. Burial will follow at Leola Cemetery in Leola. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Luther Carter, Bernie Gaiser, Don Morris, Shane Morris, Charlie Newton, Johnny Mac Pierce, Ben Smith, Mike Trammel. Honorary Pallbearers are Junior Freer, Dusty Lansdale, Floyd Lansdale, Kenneth Rainey, and Jack Rainey. Arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Sheridan. (870) 942-3231.
