Ellen Louise Reed

Ellen Louise Reed, age 85, of Stuttgart and formerly of Rison, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2024. She was born on January 29, 1939, in Altheimer, Arkansas, to the late Howard and Eula Pipkin Smith. 

Louise was a devoted homemaker who found joy in caring for her family, home, and friends. She cherished time spent with loved ones, attending church, and shopping. Known for her kind heart and generous spirit, she was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Louise touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Carl Reed; her daughter, Tracey Guffey; and her brother, Gene Smith.

She is survived by her children: Carl Reed II (Ruamporn), Amy Hall (Jonathan), and Cyndi Drye (Shane); her grandchildren: Jamie Guffey, Paige Tallie (Ridge), Hayden Reed, Chris Drye (Jordan), Caleb Hall (JoDee), and Nickie Hall; her great-grandchildren: Julia Crutchfield, Fredrick Brandon, Braden Drye, Landen Drye, Rhett Tallie, and Jemma Hall; and her siblings: John Smith (Frances) and Dee Owens Coker. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. 

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Buie & Cole Funeral Home in Rison. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 27, 2024, at Varnell Cemetery in Rison.
