Ella Aunean Rainwater

October 14, 1929 — September 1, 2022

Searcy

Ella Aunean Gallaway Rainwater, 92, passed away peacefully at home on September 1, 2022 in Searcy.

She was born October 14, 1929 in Judsonia. She grew up in Judsonia and graduated from White County Central School in 1948.

She met her husband, Doyle Rainwater, at Market Café where she waitressed in 1952. They had their first “date” at the roller-skating rink. They were married August 29, 1952. “That is where love started to bloom.”

She was a long-time member of College Church of Christ in Searcy and also Pine View Church of Christ in Clay, Arkansas. She was the most devout, humble, hospitable, “Proverbs 31” woman. She dedicated her life to God first, then family, and cared for thousands of others along the way.

She was a technician at White County Health Department for 27 years before her retirement. She and her husband spent their retirement travelling the world together and could be seen driving their classic Mustangs in local parades and car shows.

Aunean always put others before herself and volunteered her time to so many efforts: Civitan Club, Kustoms and Klassics Car Club, Women’s Shelter, His House, Hospice Care and more.

Her life is a constant reminder of humility, unity and being a servant of Christ.

Her legacy is faithful Christianity and a true, pure heart for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was the hands and feet of Jesus and worked to make people smile until her dying breath.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jarrell and Annie Gallaway; husband, E. Doyle Rainwater; daughter, Ella Jeane Rainwater Henson; great-grand son Arron Schooley; brother James Gallaway and sisters Della Etheridge, Gearldine Parks.

She is survived by two sons, Mike Rainwater of Searcy and Ron Rainwater (Wendy) of Searcy; daughter, Juanita Wolf (Charlie) of Heber Springs; 8 grandchildren, Logan, Clay, Annie, Monica, Dakota, Shawn, Jadrien, Randi; 8 great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Walker, Maitlyn, Medora, Disney, Ty, Timber, McKenzy; 2 great-great grandchildren, Olivia and Axel; sister, Jannette (Jim) Christensen of Derby, Kansas.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m., until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, September 4, 2022 at Pine View Church of Christ in Pangburn.  Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 5, 2022 at Pine View Church of Christ, with burial to follow in Hunter Hill Cemetery in Clinton, AR.
