Edward Lawrence Wade

Edward Lawrence Wade, age 93, of Sheridan, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Sheridan Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born March 14, 1922 in Saline County, the son of the late Henry F. Wade and Lacy Edwards Wade. Mr. Wade was a member of Ephesus Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and visiting with his friends at the Grant County Senior Citizen's Center. Mr. Wade is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lloyd Wade, Ollion Wade, Carl Wade, Calvin Wade, Horace Wade, Bill Wade, and Vernon Wade; and sisters, Ruby Pickle, Jane Good, Maureen McCaffrey and her twin, Maurceen Smith. Left to cherish his memory, are his friends and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 3:00 p.m., Friday, April 3, 2015 at Buie Funeral Home in Sheridan with Brother Tim Lankford officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel North Cemetery in Ico. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers are Vernon Joe Wade, Dean Smith, Mark Smith, Bryan Smith, Wesley Griffin, Sr., and Wesley Griffin, Jr. The family would like to thank Sheridan Nursing and Rehab Center and staff for their compassionate care of Edward Wade.
