Earnest Hicks

Earnest Hicks, age 67 of Rison, went to be with the Lord, Friday, February 17, 2012 at his home. He was born September 25, 1944 in Monticello, a son of the late Leslie Hicks and Maybell Wiley Hicks. Mr. Hicks was a retired logger and was a Baptist. He was also preceded in death by two children, Darrell Lee Lewis, Tonya Gaines; eight brothers, Edward Hicks, L. J. Hicks, Dortha Lee Hicks, Jessie Hicks, Raymond Hicks, Otis Hicks, Donnell Hicks and Connell Hicks; three sisters, Annie Shepherd, Dorothy Hicks and Essie Mitchell. Mr. Hicks is survived by his wife, Fannie Lou WainWright Hicks of Rison, whom he married on December 27, 1985; two sons, Frank Lewis Jr., of Malvern, Fredrick (Joyce) Lewis of Monticello; five daughters, Earnestine (Marty) Turner of Moses Lake, Washington, Janice (Frederick) Miller of Monticello, Allene Lewis of Pine Bluff, Diana (Larry) Spencer of Monticello, Connie (Brigham) Watson of Rison; two brothers, L. C. (Irene) Hicks of Lewisville, Kentucky, Willie Hicks of Little Rock; one sister, Merlene Hicks of Little Rock; seventeen grandchildren and five great grandchildren; a host of brothers and sisters-in-law, and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Trinity Faith Assembly of God Church with Reverend Victor Dolls officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stephens Cemetery at Cornerville. Pallbearers are Damon Spencer, Tony Ray Lewis, Curtis Marks, David Hicks, Kevin McCloud, Ricky Hoke, Ronald Martin and Otis Hicks. Honorary pallbearers are Lawrence Brandon, Cedric Griddine, Broderick McCloud, Billy Ballard Jr., Xavier WainWright, Steve WainWright, Reginald Roshell and Tony Fletcher. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 24, 2012 at Buie Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870)325-6216.
