Duffy Dewey Benning

Duffy Dewey Benning age 80 of Prattsville, Arkansas died February 13, 2012 at Saline Memorial Hospice in Bryant, Arkansas. He was born July 14, 1931 in Prattsville, Arkansas the son of the late Delmar Benning Sr. and Leona (Ritchey) Benning. Duffy was of Baptist faith and retired from the Air Force after serving over 20 years. He served in Japan, Thailand, Korea and 2 tours in Vietnam. After retiring he graduated from Ouachita Vo-Tech in Malvern and later become the Maintenance Supervisor and taught at the school for over 20 years. Duffy loved to fish and do yard work. Duffy was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife for over 59 years, Charlene Louise (Mayer) Benning; one brother, Delmar Benning Jr.; two sisters, Juanita Cupit and Jeanette Dixon. He is survived by two sons, Charles Michael Benning and his wife Cindy, Billy Joe "B.J." and his wife Brenda all of Prattsville, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Michael and his wife Rose of Sheridan, Arkansas; Matt and his wife Kim, Mark and his wife Tiffany,Jesse Benning and Katie Shoppaw all of Prattsville, Arkansas; one great grandson, Preston Benning of Prattsville, also a host of nieces,nephews,other extended family members and many friends that will miss him dearly. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 15, 2012 in the chapel of Buie Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Buie Funeral Home Sheridan, Arkansas. Interment will be in Philadelphia Cemetery Prattsville, Arkansas with military honors.
