Dr. Major James R. Pollock, USAF (Ret.), 48, of Sheridan passed away on February 1, 2018. He was born March 30, 1969 to Coy Dean Pollock and Alma Faye Mosley Pollock. He was a 1988 graduate of Sheridan High School where, he excelled in track, tennis and mathematics. In 1996, he graduated medical school from Oklahoma State University. He Joined the United States Air Force after 9/11 to serve his country. In 2005, he was the first family doctor to run an ICU unit in the Iraq War. In 2008, he joined a Special Forces unit as a combat doctor. In 2010, he married the love of his life Solangel. He will always be remembered as a loving husband and caring son.
He is survived by his loving wife Solangel Garcia Pollock, his parents, and numerous other family and friends who dearly loved him.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2018 at Buie Funeral Home in Sheridan. Visitation will be two hours prior to the funeral service.
