Dovie M. Roberts

Dovie Marie Kennedy Roberts, age 76, of Rison, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 1, 2014. She was born March 8, 1938, a daughter to the late Rev. Roy Lee Kennedy, Sr. and Rev. Enola Cloe Wright Kennedy. Ms. Roberts will be remembered as a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister in law and friend. She was a homemaker, worked with her husband in his ministry, church and construction business. She was a member of Forrest Park Assembly of God Church in Pine Bluff. Ms. Roberts was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Rev. Hubert Lelon Roberts whom she married June 25, 1955; one brother, R. L. Kennedy, Jr., and two sisters, Juanita Keen and Jeri McGriff. Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Gwen Paul and husband Terry of Rison; twin grandchildren, Brittany Paul, of Rison, and Bryan Paul and wife Beverly of Corning; two brothers, Frank Kennedy of Cottonwood, Alabama and Andy Kennedy, of Gulf Port, Mississippi; one sister, Tammy Wehmeier, of Navarre, Florida and a host of family and friends. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 5, 2014 at the Buie Funeral Home Chapel in Rison with burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
