Douglas Alan Delanty "Papa Smurf", passed away on November 05, 2019, at his home in Conway, Arkansas at the age of 62. Doug was born on May 3, 1957, in Council Bluff, Iowa to Donald and Patricia (Grate) Delanty. He was retired as an Engineer from Union Pacific Railroad. His greatest love was to help other people and always looked for the opportunity to help someone fix something that was broken. Doug is survived by his daughter, Sarah Delanty Shepherd of Conway; son, Jay Delanty (Lauren) of Conway; four sisters, Cathy, Cindy, Cheryl, Cris; two brothers, Steve and Dennis; three grandchildren, Ashton, Kesler, Kyzer; as well as his railroad family, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Sheri Delanty. Cremation arrangements are under the care and direction of Vilonia Funeral Home and Cremation 1134 Main Street Vilonia, AR 72173.
