Dorothy Sue Turney

Dorothy Sue Turney age 77 of Prattsville, Arkansas died on Tuesday March 13, 2012 in Prattsville, Arkansas. She was born December 19, 1934 to the late John E & Ollie Mae Burrow Cordell. She loved and looked forward to her weekly trips to Oaklawn and spending time with her partner in crime her grandson John. Another thing she loved to do was work crossword puzzles. After John's grandfather died he devoted his life and time to taking care of his grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Arthur Art Lyman Turney, one daughter Theresa Martinez, and one brother Johnny Carroll Cordell. Dorothy is survived by her loving grandson John Cordell of Prattsville; three sisters, Glenda Johnson of Lake Nemrod, Carolyn Parton of Prattsville, and Mildred Randall of Antlers Oklahoma. She is also survived by a host of friends that will miss her dearly. Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., Friday, March 16, 2012 at Buie Funeral Home in Sheridan, Arkansas. Graveside service will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday March 17, 2012 at Philadelphia Cemetery, Prattsville, Arkansas. John would like to thank the staff at Arkansas Hospice of Pine Bluff for their outstanding care during his grandmother's illness.
