Dorothy Hyatt Raybon

Dorothy Hyatt Raybon, age 80 of Rison died Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. She was born September 21, 1928 in Tinsman, a daughter of the late Asa Jefferson Hopper and Mary L. King Hopper. Mrs. Raybon was the site director for Area Agency on Aging in Thornton for many years before her retirement, and was a member of Tinsman Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Elbert C. Hyatt, Grady Raybon; one sister, Verdie Lee Spears; three brothers, Asa Hopper Jr., Derwood Hopper and Kermit Hopper; one grandson, Jeff Tolson.

Mrs. Raybon is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Jeffie Hyatt of Rison; three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Don Wilson of Rison, Linda and James Tolson of Little Rock, Brenda and William Hamilton of Houston, Texas; three stepsons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Mary Ann Raybon of Pasadena, Texas, Billy and Donna Raybon of Dallas, Texas, Mike Raybon of Thornton; two stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and Robert Richards of Trinity, Texas, Patsy and Kenneth Emerson of Thornton; one brother and sister-in-law, Curtis and Penny Hopper of Rison; nineteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 4, 2009 at Tinsman Baptist Church in Tinsman with Reverend Homer Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Ground Cemetery. Pallbearers are Paul Pennington, Chris Hyatt, Josh Tolson, Nick Hamilton, Bobby Hyatt and Havis Hyatt. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870) 325-6216.
