Dorothy Jean Van Landingham

Dorothy Jean Van Landingham, age 95, of Sheridan, formerly of Salem, IL died December 22, 2016 at Cedar Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lebanon, IL. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sheridan.

A Memorial Service for Dorothy Van Landingham was held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the Rogers-Atkins Funeral Home in Salem, IL with a reception following at the Grace United Methodist Church also in Salem, IL.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Grant County Library, 210 North Oak Sheridan, Arkansas 72150 or to the Bryan-Bennett Public Library, P.O. Box 864, Salem, IL 62881.

Survivors include sons: John T. (Tom) Van Landingham, Junior and wife, Louise; j. Michael Van Landingham and wife, Gail; William J. Van Landingham; daughters: Jean Hentzel and husband, David; Julie Bower and husband, Ralph; grandchildren: Dave, Amy, Adam, John, Tim, Mariel, Mira, Justin, Mindy, Jordan; several great grandchildren; and sister: Nadine Brinkerhoff.

Dorothy Van Landingham was born June 13, 1921 in Salem, IL to Frank H. Leckrone and Mattie H. Brown. She married John Van Landingham on April 19, 1941 in Rossville, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, a sister and her husband.

A graveside service will be February 18, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Orion Cemetery in Redfield, Arkansas, with Reverend Daniel Kirkpatrick officiating.
