Doris Janette Prewitt

Doris Janette Prewitt went home to be the Jesus on November 18, 2023. Janette was born on October 7, 1934. Janette was born in Wilson, Arkansas to Naomi Ledbetter Hart. They soon moved to Central Michigan where she spent 50 years, graduating from Battle Creek Central Highschool. She married Billy Prewitt on December 22, 1956. This year would have been 67 years of marriage. Together, they raised two sons, Ronald and Donald. Janette work at Kalero in Kalamazoo, as an accounting, bookkeeper and payroll clerk. Janette spent numerous hours involved in the First Assembly of God, their home church for many decades in Kalamazoo. After her retirement, Janette and Billy moved to Arkansas. Janette’s most fulfilling jobs were; Sister, Aunt, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Her Grandchildren were most precious to her. She loved spending time on her front porch swing, cooking with them, praying and teaching them the word of God. Her love and compassion for others was felt by so many. One of her great joys was always going on the women’s retreat with her sister, Joyce and niece, Cindy.  Janette will be greatly missed by so many but the most missed by her sister, Joyce Davis.

Janette is survived by and will be greatly missed by her husband; Billy, sister; Joyce (Howard) Davis, sons; Ron (Traci) Prewitt, Don Prewitt, daughter in law; Sherry Prewitt, Grandchildren; Austin Kempa (Caroline Johnson) Tiffany Janette Prewitt (Jesse Fortin), Levi Prewitt (Natalie Babb), Caleb (Chelsey) Prewitt, Noah Prewitt (Alyssia DeBonnerville), Isaac (Rachel) Prewitt, Elisabeth Prewitt, Anna Prewitt, Justin Prewitt, Abigail Prewitt, and Jonathan Prewitt. Great Grandchildren; Ariella and Everly. Nieces Darlene Tucker, Cindy (Kevin) Smith. Great nephews and nieces and many more family member and friends!
