Donnie Leon Ferren

Donnie L. Ferren, 78, of Lenoir City, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord February 10, 2016.  He was born May 12, 1937 at Georgetown, Arkansas to the late Edgar and Bernice Self Ferren.
After graduating Kensett High School, Mr. Ferren served in the U.S. Navy for 22 years, retiring as a Naval Officer.  He attended Memphis State University, graduating with a Bachelors of Engineering; and lastly retired as the Plant Manager for Cummins Diesel.
He married Betty Griggs Ferren May 10, 1957 at Kensett, Arkansas; she survives.  He is also survived by two sons, Mitch Ferren (Leigh) of Knoxville, Tenn., and Tim Ferren of Memphis, Tenn.; two granddaughters, Jennifer Dawson (David) of Maryville, Tenn., and Candice Ferren of Spring City, Tenn.; five great grandchildren, Courtney, Christopher, Collin, Savannah, and Owen; one brother, Elga Ferren (Lunell); two sisters, Loretta Beason (Bill) and Lania Harris (Charlie); as well as a host of extended family and friends.
Visiting hours are 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 12, at Sullivan Funeral Care in Kensett.  Graveside services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Kensett Cemetery with Full Military Honors to follow.
