Donald Lucus, 90, of Judsonia, passed away September 8, 2019 at his residence. He was born April 12, 1929 in Lafayette, Indiana to the late Sylvester and Lydia Dewey Lucus.
Mr. Lucus was drafted into the Army and served during the Korean War. He worked for the North Island Naval Airstation in San Diego, California, retiring in 1989. Mr. Lucus loved aviation, and owned his own airplane at one time. After retirement, he spent time traveling collecting his genealogy information.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Nicky Lucus; and sister, Barbara “Babs” Wiley.
He is survived by a daughter, Jessie McMahan of Judsonia; son, John Lucus of Moline, Illinois; grandchildren, Wally Garson (Michelle) of Hawaii; Michele Gardner (Jimmy) of Judsonia; Jennifer Stacy (Richard) of Judsonia; John Lucus Jr. of Louisiana; Elizabeth Thacker and Michael Lucus of both of Vilonia; ten great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
The family will have a memorial service at 10:00 am Friday, September 13, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church in Searcy.
