Dixie Lynn Lutrell, age 65, of White Hall, Arkansas left this world to be with her heavenly father in the early morning hours of July 18th, 2019 while in her home surrounded by those that loved and cared for her. On Monday July 22nd, 2019 visitation is scheduled from 10AM – 12 noon followed by a funeral service at 2PM on at Buie Funeral Home in Rison, Arkansas.
Dixie was born in Ada, Oklahoma on September 21st, 1953 and was the daughter of John T. Wood, of Albuquerque NM. and Evelyn Z. Jackson Wood of Ada, Oklahoma (deceased). Dixie earned a Master of Science in Human Resources from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma in 1989. She served the public as a Social Worker and an interpreter for the deaf in Oklahoma for 28 years until retiring in 2007. She was a member of the Delaware tribe of Native Americans and was a hospice volunteer. Dixie lived her life with a strong belief and passion in the Christian faith, had a near-perfect harmony voice, took care of her family first and foremost, and had a quiet strength that roared.
Dixie is survived by her husband of 27 years, Roger D. Lutrell Sr. of White Hall, Arkansas, daughter Elizabeth Lutrell of Redfield, Arkansas, son James Southerland of Edmond, Oklahoma, and a bonus family of Curtis Lutrell of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Roger Lutrell Jr. of Brandon, Mississippi, Chase Lutrell of Ada, Oklahoma, Christopher Lutrell of Edmond, Oklahoma, Tabitha Childers of Star City, Arkansas, father, John Wood of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and 12 grandchildren.
