Derrick “Snooks” Reeves, 41, of Mt. Vernon, passed away suddenly August 2, 2020 from injuries from a motorcycle accident. He was born May 4, 1979 at Elaine, Arkansas.
Derrick graduated from Brinkley High School in 1998 and went to Foothills Technical College where he received training in automotive repair. He was currently employed by Henard Utility in Searcy. He enjoyed large equipment and tinkering on just about anything. He loved the outdoors, farming, hunting, and fishing. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by a father, Roy Kersey; grandparents, Thomas and LouEllen Sutterfield; Erma and Clifton Reeves; as well as a sister, Barbara Walker.
He married Samantha Massingill Reeves June 30, 2001 at Batesville; she survives. He is also survived by three sons, Brayden Farris, Chance and Logan Reeves all of Mt. Vernon; his mother and father, Irene Sutterfield Kersey and Jimmy Reeves (Kim); two brothers, JC Reeves (Bridgett) of Rogers and Roy Kersey, Jr. of Zent, Ark.; three sisters, Andrea Reeves of Hernando, Miss., Marlene Gwathney (Roger) of Salem, and Betty Mason (Hal) of Brinkley; one brother-in-law Rob Massingill (Rachel); as well as many extended family and friends.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday August 4, 2020 at The Crossroads Cowboy Church on Hwy 5 in El Paso. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday also at the church with burial to follow at White County Memorial Gardens.
