Delora Nell Coulter

January 27, 1928 — March 29, 2024

Searcy

Delora Nell Hopper Coulter, 96 of Searcy, Arkansas passed away peacefully at home on March 29, 2024. She was born on January 27, 1928 in Juno, Tennessee. Delora was the daughter of the late, Charles E. Hopper and Esther Myrtle Holmes Hopper.

Delora became a Christian at a young age. She was a faithful member of Kensett First Baptist Church in Kensett, Arkansas. She began her journey serving the Lord after she married her husband, Taft. She was a proud pastor’s wife and enjoyed having opportunities to serve her Lord. She often would travel with him and assist in building churches, teaching Sunday school classes and worked diligently to care for her family. She was an avid walker and often used this time to get to know neighbors and stay connected with the community.

As time passed by, she continued to walk and keep her health a priority.  She spoke kindly to everyone and had a giving heart. During an emergency room visit, several months ago, she started singing “Love Lifted Me” proudly so that the staff and patients listened to her.  She had a lovely voice and used it singing specials in church, and even at home right up to the last couple of days of her life. Her health declined but her faith never failed.

In addition to her parents, Delora was preceded in death by her husband, Taft Revere (TR) Coulter, three sisters, two brothers, her daughter, Debbie Coulter Manning, grandson, Danny Coulter, and nephew, David Hopper.

Delora was survived by her son, Dan Coulter and daughter in law, Linda Coulter of Pleasant Plains, Arkansas, a granddaughter, Tori Coulter Cook of Batesville, Arkansas. Granddaughter, Jessica Manning and grandson, Adam Manning of Michigan.  Two great granddaughters, 1 step granddaughter, two great grandsons, and two great- great grandsons, and one great- great granddaughter, three nephews, and one niece.

Honoring her wishes, cremation will take place in Arkansas and burial will take place in Hattiesburg, Mississippi beside her husband.

Cremation arrangements provided by Sullivan Funeral Care in Kensett, Arkansas. Please sign the online guestbook at sullivanfuneralcare.com
