Debra Ann Workman "Debbie" was healed and gained her wings when she crossed over to Jesus' arms on Sunday afternoon, November 3, 2024. She was surrounded by her husband, 2 children, grandchildren, sister, and family.
Debbie was born on June 14, 1952; a sunny Saturday in Newberry, South Carolina. She was born to Charles Doss and Anna Louise Doss (née Miller). She was of Native American descent. She was raised in Crossett and attended Monticello High School.
In her early life she was a live in Nanny for the Jacuzzi Family of Little Rock and worked at Mad Butcher and later was employed by Volunteers In Court before her and her husband became owners of Chapel Quick Check and Handy Mart.
She married her husband Freddie Workman on July 3, 1981 in the home with the wedding being officiated by Pastor Albert Brown. Debbie was a devoted wife, mother, Nanny and a devout Christian. She loved all her fur babies, taking her naps, interior decor, candles, wind chimes and bamboo furniture; she was an amazing cook and her home was open with pure love to anyone who entered. She had a natural green thumb and loved gift giving.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father in law Raymond and Mayselle Workman, her brother Gary Howell, her parents Charles Doss and Louise Moye (née Miller), her son-in-law Randy White, an infant grandson Lee-Thomas Barker, 3 brother-in-laws; Donnie Ray Workman, Marvin Workman and John R. Coleman and 1 sister-in-law Carolyn Coleman, 2 nephews John Michael Coleman and Marcus Shane Howell and a niece; Sandra Workman Hatcher.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 43 years Freddie Workman, son Shawn Workman (Julie) of Glendale, daughter Susan White of Fordyce, and bonus daughter Becki Swindell of Little Rock. Her grandchildren, who lovingly called her "Nanny"; Krissi White of Little Rock, Klayton Greer of Fordyce, Hayden Workman (Gabby) of Sheridan , Dylan Workman of the home, Ethan Workman of Glendale, 2 bonus grandchildren Ashley Swindell Nix of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Dalton Swindell (Kelsey) of Little Rock. Her baby sister Carolyn Haller (Toni) of Sheridan, sister-in-law Kay Howell of Benton, great- grandchildren Autumn Leilani "Loni" Quinn Harvell and Issac Alexander Harvell of Little Rock.
Debbie was known to many as Nanny. She devoted her life to her home, family and church. She was especially fond of Christmas and playing Dirty Santa, setting the stage with immaculate seasonal decor, gorgeous Christmas trees and wonderful food served as her love language.
She loved to travel and was particularly fascinated with the Amish lifestyle in Pennsylvania. She loved the Great Smokey Mountains and the New England area of the Upper East Coast.
She never complained, said I love you every chance she got and never wasted a minute of her life by doing otherwise. She was the family matriarch, took great pride in her natural beauty and was always dressed to perfection.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, Nanny & friend to many. If we needed Nanny she as there in a heartbeat. She loved us without conditions. During the time her and her husband owned and operated Chapel Quick Check in Watson Chapel, all the kids would come over to Chapel Quick Check after school to see her and play pool. She loved each and every one of the kids and remained in touch with most.
Her family will feel this loss from now until we get to see her again. She had no idea how many people loved and prayed for her thru her illness.
Our family would like to thank each and every person who prayed, called, messaged and loved Nanny. We will continue to celebrate her memory and the gift of love she shared with us. She will be terribly missed and a void will reside in our hearts until we see her again.
Pallbearers are Klayton Greer, Hayden Workman, Dillon Workman, Ethan Workman, Tommy Dutton, Maurice Linsy.
