Dawn Chestnut

Dawn Rachelle Chestnut, age 33, passed away peacefully on August 22nd, 2024 with her family by her side. The last few weeks of life family and friends gathered to shower her with love.

Dawn was born to Cecil Chestnut and Jodi Watson on November 9th, 1990. She graduated from Riverview High School in 2009, was a longtime employee at KJ’s Restaurant and eventually earned her cosmetology license. Dawn grew up in a loving home in Judsonia with her mother (Jodi) that she looked up to, three brothers (Chris, Cody, Blake) who adored her greatly, and a stepfather (Greg) that supported her every step of the way.

Dawn was a fierce woman – and loved the people closest to her with everything she had. Her ability to bring joy and light to those around her was unparalleled. Her passion for all things cosmetology, music, spending time with her family, and holidays was inspiring. She brought people together effortlessly.

She is survived by her mother: Jodi Watson, Stepfather: Greg Watson, Father: Cecil Chestnut, Brothers: Chris Chestnut, Cody Chestnut (Wyatt), Blake Chestnut (Lizzie and Kamryn), Soul Sister: Meagan Allen, Stepsiblings: Ashley (Josh and JJ), Landon (Elizabeth and Mia), Madison and Paternal Grandparents: Cecil and Betty Chestnut. Along with cherished aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents.

Her family and friends will remember the life she lived and mourn the life she didn’t get to.

A celebration of life will be held on September 8, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Judsonia Community Center. Friends and family are invited to come together to honor and remember a life that, though very brief, was lived with an abundance of love and joy.
