David L. Rice, 65, of Kensett, passed from this life February 26, 2015 at his residence. He was born August 7, 1949 in Maywood, California.
Mr. Rice served in the United States Navy during Vietnam; spending majority of his tour on the USS Ticonderoga. After being honorably discharged, he went on to several endeavors including working for Wonder Bread, construction work, and lastly retiring from Bryce Corp. in Searcy.
He was preceded in death by his father, David F. Rice; and one brother, James D. Rice.
He is survived by his loving mother, Barbara Kilman Rice of Kensett; sister, Janice O. Dunn of Jackson, Mich.; three aunts, Nadine Abbott, Llewellyn Delaney, Imogene Wilson; two nieces, Julie Ann Meade and Kristen Rice; and one nephew, Michael W. Lindsey; four great nieces and nephews and one great-great niece. His death is also being mourned by his beloved Dachshund, Rosie.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 13, at Foster’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m. Burial with military honors will be at Fredonia Cemetery in Bald Knob.
