David Herrington

David Herrington, age 77, of the Macedonia Community near Rison went to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at his home. Mr. Herrington was born October 19, 1938 in Rison, a son of the late Clyde Herrington and Virginia Roberts Herrington. David was a skilled carpenter, retiring after forty years and was best known for being the community handyman. He was a United States Army veteran serving our country six years. David loved spending time with his family and enjoyed fishing, gardening and any outdoor activity involving his tractor. Mr. Herrington was a member of Free Hill Free Will Baptist Church and had been attending Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by; his parents; son, David Wayne Herrington; two brothers, Clyde Herrington, Jr., Charlie Herrington; three sisters, Maxine Randolph, Mable Jacks and Mildred Peters.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-three years, Janet Jacobs Herrington of the Macedonia; two sons, Jimmy Clyde Herrington and wife, Linda of Macedonia, Joe Carl Herrington and wife, Laura of Macedonia; daughter, Ronda Holst and husband, Javi of Rison; brother, Clifton Herrington and wife, Wanda of Stuttgart; sister, Jeanette Reed of Rowell; twelve grandchildren, Jake Holst and wife, Felicia, Dallas Herrington, Dakota Herrington, Josh Herrington, Tori Herrington, Samantha Herrington, Eli Herrington, Dustin Schreiner, J. D. Schreiner, Dustin Owen, Maranda Holstead, Candace Chapman; twelve great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 9, 2016 in the Buie Funeral Home chapel at Rison with Brother Jackie Richardson, Brother James Wehunt and Brother Larry Frye officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Cemetery near Rison. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 8, 2016 at Buie Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Larry Herrington, Steve Herrington, Stanley Herrington, Albert Herrington, Erwin Herrington, Mike Garrison and Pete Reed. Honorary pallbearers are Paul Jacobs, Charles Puckett, Nathan Jacobs, Joey Erwin and James Erwin. Memorials in his honor can be made to Macedonia Cemetery Association. Arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home of Rison.
