Daniel “Bud” Brooks Sloan, 80, of West Point, passed away January 8, 2016 at Unity Health in Searcy. He was born February 8, 1935 at Garner to the late Milton and Rella Mae Ashworth Sloan.
Mr. Sloan served in the United States Air Force and was a retired carpenter.
He married Helen Martin Sloan June 26, 1964 at Tyler, Texas; she survives. He is also survived by two sons, Melton Sloan (Marsha) of Hoxie, and Dr. Tony Sloan (Valerie) of Memphis; two daughters, Theresa Parmer of Judsonia and Jennifer Hester (Marty) of West Point; two brothers, Dewey and George Sloan; four sisters, Bessie Inman, Jane Taylor, Blanche Lawson, and Lillie Howell; fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren as well as a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, J.S., Jim, Johnnie, and Andrew Sloan; and one sister, Sue Allen.
Visiting hours are 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, January 12 at Kensett First Baptist Church. Funeral Services are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church followed by burial at West Point Cemetery.
