Cynthia Fonken, 69, of Romance, passed away December 30, 2019 at her residence. She was born December 25, 1950 at South Bend, Indiana to the late Arnold Clements and Sylvia Wiltbank.
She attended the Heber Springs Christian Church, loved riding horses, fishing, camping, and doing puzzles in her past time. She was also active with the Boy Scouts as a Merit Badge Counselor and a lifetime member of the Missouri Foxtrotting Horse Breed Association and Top Trail Club. She was also a longtime board member and present Secretary-Treasurer of Arkansas Chapter of the Missouri Foxtrotting Horse Breed Association. She retired in 1995 from the United States Postal Service.
She married Lowell “Lee” Fonken December 28, 1982 at Tucson, Arizona; he survives. She is also survived by two sons, Matthew Fonken of Reno, Nevada and Nicholas Fonken (Elizabeth) of Huntsville, Ark.; five grandchildren, Kaius, Kari, Malcolm, Cindy, and Makenzie.
The family will have a Celebration of Life service 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Heber Springs Christian Church, 1100 Broadway, Heber Springs, Arkansas.
Lasting memorials in her honor should be directed to St. Jude’s Hospital.
