Curtis Sims, age 88 of Fordyce, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, January 3, 2013 at his home. He was born October 6, 1924 in Shreveport, Louisiana, a son of the late Joe and Beulah Linzy Sims. Mr. Sims was an Army Air Force veteran having served his country during World War II. He was a retired truck driver for Fox Brothers. Mr. Sims accepted Christ at an early age and faithfully read his Bible daily. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Veronica Sims. Mr. Sims leaves to cherish his loving memories, one son, Kerry (Antoinett) Andrews of Little Rock; three daughters, Beverly Cavaness of Woodlawn, Patricia Mothershed of Houston, Texas and Sharon Iwundu of Woodlawn; two loving step children, Tommy Batch of Little Rock and Tracey Williams of San Antonio, Texas; a special friend, Sandra Dunn of Little Rock; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. Funeral services are 12:00 p.m., Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Buie Funeral Home with Reverend Don Zell Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Cemetery. Visitation is 6:00 to 8:00 p.m, Friday, January 11, 2013 at Buie Funeral Home. Arrangements by Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870) 325-6216.
