Cora L. Rodgers

Cora L. Rodgers, 86, of Sheridan died Monday, March 3, 2008 at the Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born January 24, 1922 in Hot Springs, a daughter of the late Ethro and Bertha Spears Ault. On November 5, 1938 she married Earnest Rodgers in Kelso, Arkansas. Mrs. Rodgers was a member of Little Creek Missionary Baptist Church and a life member of Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1976 and her brother, Steve Ault.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Alyne Rodgers of Sheridan; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Loretta and Malcom Hall of Jefferson, Carolyn Jo Martin and Linda Files both of Kelso, Phyllis and Jim Gordon of Sheridan; three sisters, Ola Faye Walker of Lake Village, Eva (George) Pickering of Jefferson, June Peacock of St. Charles, Arkansas; two brothers, Russell (Mary Jo) Ault of Jefferson, William Ault of Palestine, Texas; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2008 at Little Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan with Brother Ricky Poynor and Brother Jim Wagner officiating. Interment will follow at Kelso Cemetery in Kelso, Arkansas. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2008 at Buie Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Earnest Rodgers, Scottie Rodgers, Billy Martin, Roger Hall, Michael Rodgers and Michael Burgess. Her great-grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
