Clifton Martindale

Clifton Martindale, age 73, of Rison, died, Thursday, April 11, 2013. He was born March 5, 1940 in Hampton, a son of the late Jim Martindale and Mary Louise Crowder Martindale. Mr. Martindale was a retired brick mason, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Sue Martindale; daughter, Bobbie Lyn Martindale; brother, Leonard Martindale; sister, Virginia Cullins. Mr. Martindale is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Dukey Duncan of Rison; step son and daughter-in-law, Rickey and Gail Childers of Rison; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Marcus and Betty Lou Martindale of Rison, Charles and Betty Carolyn Martindale and Herman Gene Martindale, all of Star City; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Alma Ruth Pooree of Star City, Mary Catherine and Franklin Clark, Eva Nell and Roy Rodgers, all of Pine Bluff and Juanita Clement of Grapevine, Watheda and Randy Hollis of Rison; six grandchildren, Becky Lynn Duncan, Jeremy William Duncan, Rocky Cliff Duncan, Renee Brown, Jessica Childers and Justin Childers; eleven great grandchildren; caregiver, Frances White. Funeral services are 3:00 p.m., Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Buie Funeral Home with Reverend Leonard Hodges officiating. Burial will follow in Varnell Cemetery. Visitation is 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Pallbearers are Robert Earl Simmons, Jerry Brown, Blake White, Greg White, Jason Holderfield and Mike Martindale. Arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870) 325-6216.
