Clara Adelia (Pendleton) Pack

July 21, 1919 — September 2, 2016

Clara Adelia Pack peacefully passed unto our Lord and Kingdom of Heaven for eternity September 2, 2016 at the age of 97.
She was born July 21, 1919 at Elizabeth City, N.C. and was of the Episcopal Faith, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Her husband of 26 years, William Carroll Ward preceded her in death as well as her husband of 37 years, Edward Pack.  She is also preceded by daughter, Linda Joyce Ward; stepdaughter, Judith Stubbs.
She is survived by daughters, Carole Satterfield of Searcy and Martha Zannoni of Amsterdam, Holland; grandchildren, Melynda Wilson, Jason Satterfield, Scarlett Dros, and Nino Zannoni; great-grandchildren, Selena and Benjamin Dros; stepdaughters, Barbara Flinn and Emily Pack; nine step grandchildren and one step great-grandchild.
Mom was extraordinary.  Her warmth, kindness, humor, and thoughtful giving spirit were her hallmarks.  With her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor she made many friends in her lifetime.  Her astute, innovative, and curious nature made her so fascinating.  People were naturally drawn to her.
She loved books and crosswords were a everyday must; and scrabble was a favorite.  She wrote a poem titled Parting, which was published in 1940 by the World’s Fair Anthology of Verse in New York, New York.  Her love of books began at a young age, when she contracted Scarlet Fever twice, requiring weeks of bed rest.
She began a career as a Librarian, attending college in San Diego, California, majoring in Accounting.  She setup bookkeeping systems for many medical clinics in the 1950’s.  She was once hired to put in a new system and solve the mystery of money disappearing on a regular basis for an eye clinic in Chula Vista, California, successfully finding the perpetrator.  Her resume also included employment with the San Diego School District accounting department.
She was fascinated with antiques, especially dolls.  This was a new interest and adventure for her in the late 1960’s; she collected dolls from all over the world.  She moved to Searcy, Arkansas in 1973, opening up a small antique shop.  She soon became a pillar of the Searcy community.  She founded and federated the chapter for the Searcy Doll Collector’s Club in 1983; remaining active for over 25 years.  She was honored at Harding University for her aspiring dedication and contribution to the community.  She was extremely humbled with the honor.  That was our mom.
As a family, we are so proud and so privileged and so lucky to have had a mom like her to grow up with.  She gave us so much love, joy, happiness, and adventure.  She was a wonderful mother and good friend to many.  Her glorious light and goodness will be missed.
Interment is planned at a beautiful, serene location in Southern California.
