Christopher Chancy Durham

August 21, 1976 — May 2, 2023

Searcy

Christopher “Chancy” Durham was born August 21, 1976, in Searcy, Arkansas.  As a little boy, he could be found outside catching snakes, lizards, frogs, and the occasional crawdad if he could find some bacon and a string! His favorite thing though was fishing.  Chancy’s love of fishing began at age 3 with a five-pound bass he caught at the Arkansas River with his Uncle Matt.  From then on, he never met a fishing hole he didn’t like!

Chancy graduated from Pangburn High School in 1995 and worked at Road Systems for numerous years.  You could find him at the baseball fields with his kids, casting a line in the water, or tinkering on some project.  Always curious, Chancy tore more than one of his mother’s appliances apart, just to see how it worked!

Chancy’s passion for fishing was only overshadowed by his love for his family.  When he loved you, with all he had, and you knew it!  His wife and kids were his world, and he adored them. If you were lucky enough to spend time in his presence, his kind spirit and infectious laugh made him impossible to resist!  He will be forever missed, and cherished in our hearts, our hopes, and our dreams always.
