Charles Gary Mahan, age 67, of Searcy, passed away April 20, 2017 in the comfort of his home. He was born Feb. 10, 1950 in Nashville, TN to the parents of Eugene and Jane Mahan.
Gary was an active volunteer in the community. He enjoyed volunteering at New Life Church and devoted many of his days to the historic Pioneer Village in Searcy. There, he would bring smiles to the faces of many as he took them back in time to the ‘old days.’ His nostalgic, sheriff attire and demeanor was loved and adored by so many. Gary’s hobbies and talents were broad. From repairing clocks, to crafting guns and knives, and collecting antiques. Gary adored spending time with his grandchildren. It was high on his list of favorite things. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and friend to many.
Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Nina Phillips and Amelinda Rush, his two sons, Justin and Seth Mahan; his mother Jane Mahan; son-in-laws David Phillips and Michael Rush; daughter-in-laws Erin and Melisa Mahan; 11 grandchildren.
A celebration of Gary's life is scheduled on Saturday, May 13, 2017 from 5-7p.m. at 5463 Hwy. 13 Searcy, AR.
