Charlie Johnson, 72, of Kensett, passed away April 14, 2016 at his residence. He was born December 8, 1943 at Garner to the late Alfred “Jack” Johnson and Clara King Fergus.
Charlie was a member of Garner Baptist Church and loved fishing and tinkering on things. He served in the U.S. Army. He had a passion for music and built the Country Barn in Kensett to bring family and friends together to join in his passion for music. He never met a stranger and welcomed all to come.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two wives, Patricia and Audrey Ann; brother, Donald; sister, Audrey Sue; and son in law, Doug “Boogie” Roberts.
He is survived by two sons, Randy Johnson and Roland Andrews; daughters, Lisa Brown, Melissa Rogers, Carolyn Roberts; brother, Doyle Johnson (Carol); sisters, Dorothy Hanner (Butch), Frances Langston (William), and Margaret Steward (Bobby); sixteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and his dog, gizmo.
Visiting hours will be 5-7 p.m. Monday April 18 at Sullivan Funeral Care in Kensett. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Country Barn, at the corner of North and Buffalo Street in Kensett. Burial will follow at Kensett Cemetery.
