Cecil Wilbur Elledge Jr.

Cecil Wilbur Elledge Jr., 76, of Searcy, passed from this life July 5, 2015.  He was born February 13, 1939 at Searcy to the late Cecil Wilbur Elledge Sr. and Elma Turney Elledge.
After graduating from Kensett High School, Mr. Elledge served in the United States Air Force from 1957 until being Honorably Discharged in 1962.  He received his Bachelor of Science from Samford University in Birmingham and his Juris Doctorate from the Birmingham School of Law.  After passing the Bar, Mr. Elledge practiced Criminal Law in Birmingham for 25 years; then retiring at Searcy.  In addition to being well respected in his career, he will be forever remembered for his kindred spirit and love for laughter, and for being a wonderful husband and father.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Mandy and Michelle Elledge; a brother, Hal Elledge; and brother-in-law, Glenn Kirkland.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Nellie Anthona Harrington Elledge December 29, 1958 at Birmingham, celebrating 56 years; she survives.
He is also survived by one son, Richard Travis Elledge of Searcy; two daughters, Patti Elledge Jones (David) of Sevierville, Tenn., and Angela Ledora Elledge Gainer of Shalimar, Florida; seven grandchildren, Richard and Nichole Elledge, Christopher and Lauren McGinnis, Brittany, Shelby, and Rachel Gainer; ten great-grandchildren, Chloe, Braden, Micha, Kaleb, Morgan, Luke, Norah, Samuel, Will and Lillie; two brothers, James and Paul Elledge; and two sisters, Wilma Kirkland and Winnie Bell Brewer; special friends Martin and Shirley Palmer, Debbie and Bobby Tooley, Janet and Lynn Taylor, Linda Thorton, and Dr. Katherine Durham; and his best canine friend, Bama.
The visiting hour will begin 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 14 until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m., at Kensett First Baptist Church with Pastor Joe Clement officiating.  Burial will follow at Kensett Cemetery.
