Catherine Burford Wilson

Catherine Burford Wilson, age 86, of the "Y" Community near Rison, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on December 5, 2014. Mrs. Wilson was born March 19, 1928 in Kingsland, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Horace Burford, Sr. and Fannie John Lovin Burford. She was a faithful member of Rison United Methodist Church where she was very involved in the Women's Guild. Mrs. Wilson was an active member of the Cleveland County Historical Society and the Canada/Kennedy Cemetery Association. She was a very dedicated bridge player and enjoyed gardening. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wilson is preceded in death by her husband, Lonnis L. Wilson, whom she married in March of 1945 in Thornton, Arkansas. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Ricky Wilson and his wife Natalia of Rison; one daughter, Melinda McKnight and her husband Bill of Rison; one brother, Horace Burford, Jr. and his wife Kathryn of Smith Chapel; four grandchildren, Paul McKnight and his wife Ashley, Diana Reed and her husband Ryan, Brett Wilson and his wife Katy and Wilson McKnight and his wife Rachel; and three great grandchildren, Wil Reed, Tucker McKnight and Wes Reed. Visitation is 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, December 7, 2014 at the funeral home. Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 8, 2014 in Wilson Cemetery at Rison, with the Reverend Don Johnson and Reverend Ike Mohr officiating.
