Catherine Terry Owens

Catherine Terry Owens age 77 of Rison, died, Friday, January 7, 2011 at her home. She was born February 13, 1933, in Cleveland County, a daughter of the late Edd Riggins and Mary Anderson Riggins. Mrs. Owens enjoyed her family, friends, and church. She also enjoyed quilting and dancing. Mrs. Owens retired from the healthcare industry, the Area Agency on Aging and was a homemaker. She was a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by two husbands, Virgil Terry and Sam Owens; a son, Randy Terry.

Mrs. Owens is survived by one son, Marvin Terry of Wilmar; two daughters and son-in-law, Nell Jarvis of Nashville, Arkansas, Martha and Billy Knowles of Rison; two step-sons, Bob Owens of Fort Worth, Texas and Sam Owens of College Station, Texas; one brother, James Riggins of Rison; three sisters, Linda Huffman and Etta Hall, both of Rison, Martha Bates of Monticello; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 10, 2011 at Buie Funeral Home Chapel in Rison with Brother Wade Totty and Brother C. E. Van Ness officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2011 at the funeral home. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
