Catherine L. Langford

Catherine Lillian Childress Langford, age 79 of the Hebron Community, near New Edinburg went to be with the Lord Friday, September 18, 2015 at St. Johns Place in Fordyce. She was born April 9, 1936 in Hebron, a daughter of the late George Madison Childress and Ruthie Mae Burks Childress. Mrs. Langford was a homemaker whom enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, crocheting and watching Fox news. She loved her Lord, and was a faithful member of Mt. Elba Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Langford was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and best friend to her family whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her brother, Freddie Childress. Survivors include her husband of sixty years, Ted Langford of Hebron, whom she married November 12, 1955. daughters, Kay Garlington and Ronnie of Ivan, Nancy Wilson and Butch of New Edinburg; sister, Amelia "Mickey" Bryant and Billy of Smith Chapel; grandchildren; Jenny Smead and Captain of Ivan, Lindsey Fleming and Eric of Fordyce; Leigha Workman and Chris of Dumas, Cassidy Wilson of Little Rock; great grandchildren, Ross Smead, Case Smead, Kyzer Workman. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at New Edinburg Cemetery with Brother John Greenwood officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Monday, September 21, 2015 at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Chris Thompson, Jamie Thompson, Roger McClelland, Jeff Childress, Dean Bowen and Harold Langford. Memorials can be made to New Edinburg Cemetery Association. Arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home of Rison.
