Carolyn Lindsey Matteson, 75, of Pangburn, passed away August 7, 2016 at Unity Health in Searcy. She was born November 1, 1940 at Pangburn to the late William Thomas and Mary Kathryn Burt Lindsey.
She was a member of the Pangburn Church of Christ and worked for Sperry-Vickers Corporation in Searcy prior to her retirement. She loved gardening, visiting with family and friends, and shopping trips. She was a good neighbor to all. She loved the Lord. Carolyn and her twin sister Marilyn were identical, Carolyn was Marilyn and Marilyn was Carolyn. They were known throughout Pangburn as the “Lindsey Twins”. No one could tell them apart. They loved to trick people as to which one they were; they had a lot of fun and were inseparable. They were joined at the heart, life, and now in death.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Marilyn Lou Gaither, sisters, Sybil Anita Fuller and Phyllis Ann Imset; brothers, Billy Paul Lindsey and Alvin Dean Lindsey.
She married Franklin Gene Matteson in 1962 and preceded her in death April 12, 2009.
She is survived by a brother, Phyneas Dan Lindsey (Maria) of Bald Knob; four sisters, Jackie Hopper of Mtn. Home, Kathy Metz of Little Rock, Katie Latimer (Joe) of McRae, and Sharon Culpepper of Little Rock.
She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and neighbors.
Visitation will begin 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 10 at Pangburn Church of Christ until the funeral hour at 12 NOON. Burial will follow at Higden-McLehaney Cemetery.
