Born June 27, 1947 in Drew County Arkansas, Carl E. Perry stopped burning daylight on September 22, 2023. In the early days of his career he was a deputy and a jailor for Drew County Sheriff's department. Later, he retired as chief towboat engineer from the Mississippi river. He was the jack of all trades but a master of none according to him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Forrest-Perry; his parents, James Walter Perry and Eula Orene Hicks Perry; his brothers, James, Bob and Charles Perry; his sister Mary Jane Perry-Lofton; his nephew, Shawn Perry; and his son-in-law, Micky Wilkerson.

He is survived by his two daughters, Barbara Denise Perry-Wilkerson and Laura Madonna Perry-Adams; his son-in-law, Daniel Adams; his grandchildren, Callie Aiken (Cody) Catelynn McElroy (Kane) Nathan Adams (Joann), Caci Wilkerson (Josh) and Lauren Adams. Also Survived by his great grandchildren Madison Aiken; Erin and Carson McElroy; Jonnah, Elliott, and Asher Adams; his brother Wayne Perry; sister Sharon Perry-Reynolds. Carl is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. And finally, his furry grandkids Rudy and Lovey.

He knew all there was to know about country music. He could tell you the artist, the songwriter and band members. He always said roll with the flow and let the low side drag and don't sweat the small stuff. He said in life you need one good woman, one good dog and one good horse. Well he did even better than he expected. He had 3 good women several good dogs and ain’t never had no need for a horse. He was the glue that held the family together and will be missed greatly by all.
