C Leon Reed

C. Leon Reed, age 84 of 6705 Sorrells Road, Pine Bluff, went to be with the Lord Monday, September 3, 2007. He was born June 28, 1923 in Rison, a son of the late Bill Reed and Edna Lain Reed. Mr. Reed was reared and received his education in Rison. He worked for twenty years for Arkansas Power and Light, also know as Entergy. Mr. Reed later went into business for himself, owning Leons Car Wash and Leons Muffler Shop. He was an active member of Hazel Street Church of Christ prior to his illness, where he served in numerous ways. Mr. Reed was also preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Taylor Reed, whom died on December 2, 2006; four brothers, Garvin Reed, Marvin Reed, Grady Reed and Jack Reed; one sister, Mae Reed Bell.

Mr. Reed is survived by one daughter, Anne Reed Conery and her husband Robert G. Conery Jr., of Bella Vista; one son, David R. Reed and his wife Kay Stover Reed of Pine Bluff; one sister, Birdie Reed of Pine Bluff; three grandchildren, Kristie Conery Reed, Blake Reed and Ashley Conery semingson; five great grandchildren; his much loved care giver, Brenda J. Whitt.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at Buie Funeral Chapel in Rison with Reverend John Hagan officiating. Burial will follow in the varnell Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Blake Reed, Judd semingson, Andy Reed, Robert McClanahan, Mac Mathis and Bill Glover. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 4, 2007 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. The family will be at 7826 South Pinewood, Pine Bluff. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Foundation, 10411 West Markham, Suite 130, Little Rock, Arkansas 72205-1409 or the charity of the donors choice.
