Burnelle Wilson

Burnelle Hamilton Morrison Wilson age 96 of Rison, died, Thursday, May 27, 2010 at the Green House Cottages of Southern Hills Nursing Home in Rison. She was born April 3, 1914 in Kingsland, a daughter of the late Lee P. Hamilton and Susie Emma Barnett Hamilton. Mrs. Wilson attended school in Kingsland, Rison and Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School in 1931. For thirty five years she was the wife of Chester Homer Morrison, former Sheriff of Cleveland County. She briefly served as Cleveland County Sheriff after her husbands death. She was married to Bertram Wilson for twenty five years. Mrs. Wilson also worked as a beautician, tax collector and real estate agent. She was a member of the Rison Garden Club and the Rison United Methodist Church, where she was active in church music at Rison and Pansy. Mrs. Wilson began playing the piano at the age of eight years old and continued to play when called upon at the nursing home. Mrs. Wilson was also preceded in death by husbands, Chester Homer Morrison, Bertram Wilson; four sisters; one brother; one grandchild and one great grandson.

Mrs. Wilson is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn H. and Virginia Morrison of Damon, Texas, Wade and Rita Morrison of Pansy; one daughter, Diane and Pete Attwood of Rison; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 30, 2010 at Rison United Methodist Church with Reverend Don Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Pansy Cemetery. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Buie Funeral Chapel in Rison.
