Buford Laverne Hutchens

Buford L. Hutchens of Conway, Arkansas passed away October 30, 2023, at the age of 76. Buford was born in New Albany, Mississippi on June 18, 1947, to Chester and Louise (Butler) Hutchens. He is preceded in death by his wife Maralyn Hutchens also by his parents, brother Chester “PeeWee” Hutchens, sister Katherine Stroud, and sister-in-law Ann Hutchens. Buford was a long-time employee at Rush-Hal Properties but had to retire last year due to multiple health issues.

Buford is survived by two sons, Frankie Hutchens (Carol), Kyle Hutchens, and one daughter Wanda Hutchens. One grandson, Anthony Hutchens (Paige) and one granddaughter, Kailen Farmer (Zach). One great-grandson, Jaelin Tate and one great-granddaughter Kali Blandford. Buford is also survived by two brothers Faron Hutchens and Kenneth Hutchens (Sherry), three sisters Lavon Owens (Paul), Virginia McCallen, and Lynda Williams Byrd (Terry) and nephew, James Cash (Karen) who was raised more as a brother. He is also survived by many other family members including brothers-in-law Jim Warrington, Clyde Howell, Richard Cash and James Williams.

Cremation arrangements provided by Vilonia Funeral home in Vilonia, AR and a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, November 11, 2023 (visitation 10 – 11 am) at Bethlehem Church of the Lord Jesus Christ (49 Overton School Rd, Potts Camp, MS 38659) with services officiated by Bro. Steve Wilson.

A private burial for the family will be at Cornersville Cemetery later in the day. Arrangements for a celebration of Buford’s life will also be held in Arkansas at a later date. The family would like to thank Baptist Health Hospice for the wonderful care they provided.
