Brian Trenton Rhodes

Brian Trenton Rhodes, 81, a life-long resident of the "Y" Community near Rison went to be with the Lord Thursday, April 7, 2016. Mr. Rhodes was born March 20, 1935, a son of the late Boyd Mart Rhodes and Elizabeth Harvey Rhodes. He was a graduate of Rison High School and a member of Bethel Number One Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Rhodes was owner operator of Rhodes Welding Service, being well known for his ability to repair and restore items back to working condition again. He retired from the Army Corp of Engineers, after a career of over thirty years. Mr. Rhodes was a United States Navy Veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a well rounded sportsman and loved many outdoor activities which included fishing, hunting, camping and gardening. Mr. Rhodes was also a 32nd Degree Mason and Shriner for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Kelley Rhodes; two brothers, Charles Howard Rhodes and Rolf Rhodes.

Survivors include two sons, John Rusty Rhodes, of the "Y" Community, Brian Everett Rhodes and wife, Angela Grace of Booneville; two brothers, Gene Rhodes and Randy Rhodes, both of Rison; four grandchildren, Terran Ashley Henderson, John Julian Rhodes, Trenton James Rhodes, Aaron Everett Rhodes and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Buie Funeral Home Chapel in Rison with Reverend Kenneth Swiger officiating. Interment will follow in Wilson Cemetery in Rison. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Wayne Buchanon, Bill Mays, Tom Drye, Allen Gray, Eddie Lybrand, Doug Johnson and Buster McKoin. Memorials can be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Funeral arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home of Rison.
