Booker Lee (Lunnie) Hart

April 24, 1934 — October 23, 2015

Booker Lee Hart was born April 24, 1934 to the late Reverend Edward and Luebertha Lunnie in Scott, Arkansas. She departed this life at 12:30 am on October 23, 2015 at Saint Vincent Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.

She was described by those who knew her as a loving mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt and friend. As a mother, she displayed unconditional love for all of her children. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing, gardening and working in the yard.

Professing a profound faith at an early age, Booker accepted Christ into her life at Mount Arratt Baptist Church in Beebe, Arkansas. She later joined the Centennial Missionary Baptist Church in Kensett, Arkansas.

She entered into holy matrimony with Earnest Gene Hart on June 4, 1956. After marriage, they resided in Searcy, Arkansas, for several years with five of their children. They later made their home in Kensett, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Mr. Walter “Mickey” Hart; brothers, Mr. James Lunnie, Mr. Issac Lunnie, and Mr. Lucis Lunnie; and sister, Ms. Myrlene Turner.

She leaves to cherish her memory, three sons, Mr. Edward, Mr. Lindell, and Mr. Phillip Hart of Kensett, Arkansas; stepson, Mr. James Hart of Omaho, Nebraska; four daughters, Mrs. Shirley (Steve) Stevenson and Mrs. Margaret (Claude) Smith of Kensett, Arkansas, Mrs. Helen (Kenneth) Seawood of Montrose, Michigan,  Ms. Phyllis Hart of Nashville, Tennessee; eighteen grandchildren, thirty-five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a very special and close friend, Mr. Leroy Morris; three brothers, Mr. Rell Lunnie, Mr. Robert (Jackie) Lunnie, and Mr. Leo Lunnie; five sisters, Mrs. Bertha McGee,  Mrs. Ruby Lunnie, Mrs. Oletha Offord, Mrs. Earnestine Barron, and Mrs. Mae (Harold) Welch; and a host of relatives and friends.

Visiting hours will begin 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Centennial Baptist Church in Kensett until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m.   Cremation will follow funeral services under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Care of Kensett.  Leave a condolence: www.SullivanFuneralCare.com
