Bobby Vinson

Bobby Vinson, age 78, of Rison, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, October 20, 2022. He was born March 10, 1944, in Herbine to the late Idus and Lillian Vinson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Opal Vinson; brothers Harold Vinson, Royce Vinson, Gene Vinson (Analine) and Jimmy Tooke; sisters Juanice Stewart (Joe B.) and Lila Thompson (Robert); and brother-in-law Charles Ritchey.

Bobby was a graduate of Woodlawn High School. Following high school, he worked in refrigeration, heating and air conditioning in Pine Bluff, as an electrician and shop foreman at Burlington in Monticello, and as a bakery shop foreman in Pine Bluff. He enjoyed dirt track racing, winning many races in the 1970’s and 1980’s, and serving as President of the Friendly Hunting Club.

He is survived by his son Mike Vinson (Mindy) of Memphis, TN; sister Doris Ritchey of Woodlawn; brother Bill Vinson (Judy) of Herbine; sisters-in-law Ida Mae Vinson of Mountain Home, Dorothy Vinson of Kentucky and Joyce Tooke of Star City; grandchildren Matthew Vinson (Jade) of Bentonville and Olivia Lloyd (Curtis) of Fayetteville; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at Buie Funeral Home in Rison. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Prosperity Cemetery.
