Bobby E. Turner Sr

Bobby E. Turner Sr., age 78, of Crossett, died Monday, October 22, 2012. He was born July 16, 1934 in Rison, a son of the late Virgil Turner and Ruthey Roberts Turner. Mr. Turner served in the United States Army, as a Master Sergeant, and the Army National Guard for a total of thirteen years. He was a dedicated employee for Westinghouse Electric and Eastern Electric. Mr. Turner was a retired Co Owner of Mid South Electric in Greenville, Mississippi. He was a member of Cloverdale Assembly of God Church in Crossett from 1975 to present, and served as a former trustee. Mr. Turner attended Rison Baptist Church and First Assembly of God, while living in Rison. He loved spending time on his small family farm; he also enjoyed fishing, hunting and bowling. Mr. Turner also loved spending family time with his children and grandchildren. Mr. Turner was a man of great faith and honor. He believed that a man's word was his bond. He looked for good in all that he met, and was always willing to help others, always put God first, then his family. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lorie Ann Turner; two brothers, John E. Turner, James R. Turner; one sister, Mabel R. Powers. Mr. Turner is survived by wife of fifty four years, Monica Gallin Turner of Crossett, whom he married on June 14, 1958; four sons, Bobby E. Turner Jr, and Allison of Redfield, Louis M. Turner and Paulette of Magnolia, Tony T. Turner And Shelley of Batesville, Mississippi, Thomas S. Turner and Emily of Monticello; three daughters, Karin R. Cater of Joiner, Angela R. Rushing and Shannon of Choudrant, Louisiana; Lisa Shairrick of Rogers; sixteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m, Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Cloverdale Assembly of God Church near Crossett with Reverend John Martin officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. in Varnell Cemetery at Rison. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Cloverdale Assembly of God Church. Pallbearers are Chad Turner, Tavis Turner, Allyn Turner, Todd Kelley, Matt Goslowsky and Thomas Mullinaux. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Elliott, Hayden Turner, Ryan Turner, and Josh Casey.
