Bobby McMurtrey

Bobby Dan McMurtrey, age 63, passed away from this life, Sunday, October 27, 2024. He was born November 13, 1960 to Joe Tom and May Delle McMurtrey.

Preceding him in death are his parents and fraternal twin brother, Billy Joe. He is survived by his wife, Shelly Elizabeth and son, Matthew Justin.

Bobby was a man of few words but was dedicated and loyal to his family and his career of nearly 30 years at Tyson Foods. He was genuine. With him, there were no pretenses. He was extremely proud of Justin and enjoyed being his father. He was loving and loyal to his wife of 27 years.

While his many hobbies included raising cattle, hunting, fishing and photography, it was the lifetime of friendships he developed that brought him so many treasured memories.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Rison Paws for a Cause, P.O. Box 123, Rison, AR 71665.

Pallbearers will be Mark Attwood, Wendel Patrick, Jeff Wilson, Don Terry, Jim McDonald and Chuck Smith.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Buie & Cole Funeral Home in Rison with Rev. Spencer Branch officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
