Bobby John Marks age 79 of Kingsland, died Saturday, June 9, 2007 at his home. He was born May 20, 1928 in New Edinburg, a son of the late Robert T. Marks and Mary Rogers Marks. Mr. Marks graduated from New Edinburg High School in 1946. He was a truck driver, and was a glue maker with Georgia Pacific Plywood plant in Fordyce, retiring after 25 years. Mr. Marks enjoyed hunting, gardening and camping. He was a member of Mt. Elba Missionary Baptist Church.
Mr. Marks is survived by four children: two sons, Floyd Miller of Sheridan, and Tommy Nevels of Texarkana; two daughters, Dorothy Brown of New Edinburg, and Nancy Green of Fordyce; seven grandchildren, Darran, Tim, Greg, Michelle, Candi, Julie and Nikki; six great grandchildren, Josh, Clint, Bailey, Clint, Tyler and Taylor.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 11, 2007 at Buie Funeral Home Chapel in Rison with Brother Jackie Richardson officiating. Burial to follow in the Graves Cemetery near Kingsland. Visitation will be Monday, June 11, 2007 in the Chapel from 10:00A.M., until service time. Pallbearers are Dennis Kea, Gary Stamper, Kermit Puterbaugh, Ken Puterbaugh, Jimmy Childress, and Jeff Childress. Memorials may be made to Mt. Elba Missionary Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison.
