Bobby Ray Hyatt, age 82, of Rison went to be with his Lord on September 19, 2023. He was born January 26, 1941 in Cleveland County to the late Herman C. Hyatt, Sr. and Clarice "Redtop" Holderfield. He was a United States Air Force veteran, following his service in the Air Force he joined the Army National Guard. He retired after many years as a teacher and a coach. He was also a faithful member of Bethel #1 Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Elbert Hyatt, Herman Hyatt, Jr., and Havis Hyatt.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Carolyn Nell Hyatt, his daughter Barbie Kay McAfee and her husband Scott, and his son Bobby Ray Hyatt, Jr. and his wife Karen, two sisters, Mary Frances Wells and Opal Charlene Bond, grandchildren, Scott Edward Hyatt McAfee II (Lauren Nalezny), William Harmon Hyatt McAfee, Ashlyn Reagan Hyatt, Brooklyn Auburn Hyatt and Caitlyn Eden Hyatt and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 25, 2023, at Buie Funeral Home in Rison.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Bethel #2 Missionary Baptist Church in Herbine. Interment will follow in Prosperity Cemetery.
